Put Yourself First

Put your needs first instead of putting your needs aside to make others happy. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to make others happy, and it shows you have a generous heart. But to be happy and improve your self-esteem, your needs must be fulfilled, and you are the only one who can do that. This is not being selfish. Ask yourself: Why should everyone else be happy but you? That doesn’t seem fair or sensible.

You deserve to be happy, and you can be happy. Meeting your needs first rather than feeling dissatisfaction and resentment will allow you to be a better person, friend, or family member to others.

When you are happy, you encourage others to be happy around you. Happiness is infectious.
